Le luci del cinema indipendente hanno illuminato di nuovo i Navigli di Milano durante la serata finale della terza edizione del Milano Indie Movie Awards, tenutasi ieri presso il Teatro Alfredo Chiesa, nuova denominazione dello spazio che aveva già accolto le precedenti edizioni.
Il festival, organizzato da Cinebaloss, ha ribadito la sua missione: dare visibilità ai cortometraggi indipendenti da tutto il mondo, con una particolare attenzione ai film realizzati con budget ridotti, ma traboccanti di idee, tecnica e cuore.
Il pubblico ha potuto viaggiare attraverso storie diversissime tra loro, dal dramma alla commedia, passando per approcci sperimentali e racconti che hanno saputo sorprendere per intensità e stile. Un vero panorama internazionale, che ha reso evidente quanto sia ricco e vitale il mondo del cinema indipendente.
A distinguersi come Miglior Film è stato High Stand del regista ungherese Péter Karácsony, mentre il premio per il Miglior Film Italiano è andato a Il mondo è nostro di M. V. Pinnavaia e G. A. Lo Cascio. Il riconoscimento per il Miglior Film Internazionale è stato assegnato al francese Luis Costa per Infinitésimal, segno di una selezione sempre più aperta ai talenti globali.
Sul fronte dei premi tecnici, il portoghese Rui Simões ha conquistato il titolo di Miglior Regista con Okupação da TSF, mentre lo statunitense Jacob French ha ottenuto la vittoria per la Miglior Sceneggiatura grazie a Sketchy Characters. Il premio per il Miglior Montaggio è stato attribuito all’italiano Andrea Sardu per Catharsis, Ascension and Hell Raving.
Il riconoscimento Best Braggadocio, dedicato a opere che colpiscono per spavalderia e originalità, è infine andato a Parking Review di Davide Curto, che ha conquistato il pubblico con il suo approccio ironico e audace.
La serata si è chiusa con un clima di festa e di gratitudine reciproca, confermando ancora una volta che il vero motore di questo festival resta la passione sconfinata per il cinema indipendente.

The lights of independent cinema once again lit up Milan’s Navigli during the closing night of the third edition of the Milano Indie Movie Awards, held yesterday at Teatro Alfredo Chiesa, the newly named venue that had already hosted the festival in previous years.
Organized by Cinebaloss, the festival reaffirmed its mission: to shine a spotlight on independent short films from all over the world, with a special focus on works made on modest budgets but rich in ideas, technical skill, and heart.
The audience was taken on a journey through very diverse stories, from drama to comedy to experimental approaches, all showcasing the vibrant and multifaceted landscape of indie cinema on a global scale.
Standing out as Best Film was High Stand by Hungarian director Péter Karácsony, while the award for Best Italian Film went to Il mondo è nostro by M. V. Pinnavaia and G. A. Lo Cascio. The Best International Film honor was given to French filmmaker Luis Costa for Infinitésimal, a sign of the festival’s increasingly global reach.
On the technical side, Rui Simões from Portugal earned Best Director for Okupação da TSF, and American Jacob French won Best Screenplay with Sketchy Characters. The Best Editing award went to Italian Andrea Sardu for Catharsis, Ascension and Hell Raving.
Finally, the Best Braggadocio award, dedicated to films that stand out for their boldness and originality, was awarded to Parking Review by Davide Curto, which charmed the audience with its ironic and daring touch.
The evening wrapped up in a spirit of celebration and mutual appreciation, once again proving that the driving force behind this festival is an unbounded passion for independent cinema.
